Work in Progress

I worked a bit on Jeremy's painting tonight, i'm not sure how i feel about it yet. Hopefully i'll finish it by the end of the week, when i will post a picture of it.

I got a certificate today for the school art gallery. :) Another addition to my portfolio!

I've had a bit of "painters block" lately. Hopefully i'll get over it soon.

The attack of the artist

I was at work last night, and I was chatting with T.T. I love her. She is one of the sweetest people i've ever met. She started talking about my art,

"your art lightens my day."

she went on to say how my art is different because it's not your typical, brook with a shack in the wintertime kinda painting. She told me that when she isn't in a happy mood, she'll walk into her dining room and see my paintings and - smile - and not many paintings can do that for her.

"you are an unserious artist"

(that's a good thing)
i'm a serious unserious artist. i like that.

Her husband is in charge of finding artists to paint a mess hall for the military. T.T is going to ask (if he didn't find someone already) and see if i could possibly paint the ladies bathroom and a wall leading to it. I don't want to say i'm a shoe-in, but i realllllly hope that i can do that. What great experience, and $1500! Can you imagine. I can't. I hope i'm not getting my hopes up for nothing. Hopefully she'll send me an e-mail soon.

Another Custom Painting

A custom painting for an old friend. 8 X 10. and a little something extra.

He wants a skull in it. This could be interesting.

Art Gallery

I went into the college's first annual "Love for Art" Gallery. I took a picture of where my painting was hung.

The lighting in the room was very beautiful, but you can see where it is :)

Finished Painting

Today was a very eventful art day!

During lunch hour at class to celebrate the art gallery they have going on right now, they had an "art experience" lunch hour, where you could go and dabble in different mediums. I painted a bit, and a women who was there overseeing everything, asked me if i ever thought of doing art full time, my response was,
"that'd be nice."

She seemed sweet enough, she went to NASCAD, and asked me if i ever thought of going there. No.

I finished up T.T's painting this morning (varnished it) and gave it to her at workie.

8 X 16

My boss saw T.T's painting and wants me to do 2 large paintings for her living room and rec room! how exciting!!

Sunday Night

Waiting for supper to cook, boil and simmer.

This weekend was fun with lots of new (friends)? and laughs, and DDR! I worked, but have started to fall ill. I'm almost done my 8 X 16 paiting for T.T at work. I may have sold a 16 X 20 painting. Dawn's friend was over here and she says she wants it... i'm going to finish it, then e-mail her a picture and a price, and see what happens. Hopefully some people at work will see T.T's painting and like it - and will want to spend their bonus money on ART. Maybe i'm being too hopefull!

Pictures soon to come!

Just another Snowy Thursday

Class was cancelled this morning, so i am waiting to go home, to paint, eat, then go to work. I was in the infant centre this morning so not all was pointless.

I added some art to my flickr account, in hopes of some possible views to my etsy website:

I brought in this painting ...

to school today for the first annual art gallery. I will take a picture of it within the gallery sometime next week. It will be on display until February 15, 2007.

I sold this painting yesterday:

which really excites me because it was the very first item that i ever posted on my Etsy website!! I sold it to another seller that I talk to often on the chat rooms on etsy.

In the process

Right now i'm in the process of creating two custom paintings. One for a woman i work with and one for a friend on etsy.

Both are pictures I took today (no school - snow day) of both paintings. The first one the coffee cups custom, and the second is just the background so far of the other.

First Entry

I decided to start a new "blog" so i can keep track of my art and see how it's progressing. How exciting!!
