I drove to the valley for my portfolio consultation day. I left at 7:10 and I had to be there for 8:30. I arrived at 8:25. My teacher didn't realize that two of us had our appointments at 8:30 - she didn't think we were until 9:00. So we ended up waiting around for about 45 minutues until they got all ready and situated. But I didn't have to to anywhere so I wasn't in any rush. I got my portfolio all checked over and it was fine. Everything was great.
I found a guy from Troy's course - Eric who had bought two paintings from me. I tracked him down to get the cash. I hung out with him for a little while and helped him plant some of his flowers. I ended up getting a bit of a sunburn only being out in the sun for a short amount of time. That's totally crazy. Troy got really sunburnt today. He was outside for 10 hours!! I would be too without any sunburn. Terrible!
Here's one of the paintings that Eric bought... I can't remember if I posted a picture of it or not.
Tomorrow is going to a relaxed day. Job Hunting! I applied at the Halifax MarksWork Wearhouse - I found out on monster.ca today that they are hiring - SO i hope i can get on there! I already know how to do everything! :)

I'm giving my friend her graduation present tomorrow (because she won't be there for the acutally day). I'm giving her one of my coffee painting that I did! :) I really hope that she likes it.
City... canvas... i need some. I checked out some canvas at Michael's art and craft store and it seemed really expensive - more expensive then Loomis. I can't wait till I can go to the city and get canvas whenever i want. But i still am nervous.

I left Troy to "man" the sale while I went and helped out selling food at the canteen for the cattle sale at noon. That was so tiring. Doing any work at that canteen is tiring that's for sure. But I made it through and made some money in the process.
I don't think i'll be able to do much painting the next few days. Maybe not even until Thursday. We leave for PEI tomorrow afternoon. Then the valley on Wednesday.
It will be much easier to paint in the city when supplies are right at my fingertips.

So it's thunder and lightening.
I have had some experiences where i was afraid of thunder and lightening and others where i wasn't too worried about it. So... am i afraid of thunder and lightening. If i am inside - no. If i am NOT inside then yes. I was outside and then to the car and the whole time i was shaking, and gasping everytime i saw the thunder. eww. i just don't like it.
Tonight Troy and I packed yardsale stuff on the back of the truck. I vacummed out the car, and wiped down the inside - but the car - just like it's owner is a complete and udder dirt bag.
If it rains tomorrow i am going to be sooo angry!
Troy and I were going to go and celebrate tonight with an icecream, but i think we'll do that tomorrow night instead. Tonight we had pizza and garlic fingers instead!
I had a little parade of children waving goodbye to me as I was leaving. I honked my horn for them!
Yard Sale Tomorrow!
Thursday, May 24, 2007
I kept seeing on the Etsy forums... "Canadian Buy and Sell Party" and i was just too confused. This was until I read Enthral blog post here and now i'm not confused anymore!
You buy an item from a shop on the list, and then your replaces theirs on the list. I'm so glad that was all cleared up for me!
Now i'll have to join in on the fun :)
I'm getting yard sale stuff ready tonight so i don't have to do it all tomorrow. Troy and Mom said that I should try and sell some of my coffee paintings and hemp jewelry during the yard sale. But I haven't decided yet.
I finished two more coffee paintings, and I have started working on some more washer art pendants. I'm hoping that if i keep some stuff low scale, that they will be able to sell cheaper. But we'll have to wait and see what Halifax has to offer me.

This week is my last week of workplacement and i'm so excited! Next week i have to go in for a portfolio review day and then that's it - i'm finished!! I'll be all ready to move to the city and find a real job.
I've been doing a coffee cup series. On 110 lb paper i paint coffee cups using acyrlic, watercolors and ink. I have 9 done so far. I have each one nicely framed in a simple black frame and i'm hoping i will be able to sell them for $20 a piece in the city. I'll take some pictures this week to show them off!
I will be moving to Halifax in about 2 weekish. I just signed up for my other sign language course (so that makes two). My first one (ASL1) starts on June 25 and goes for three weeks, then my second one starts and then ends on August 4th. I'm super excited, i'm just hoping that i will be able to find a job ok and make money so i can actually pay rent!!
Next week i have to go back to the valley for my portfolio day - and so that my teachers can tell me "yes" i have graduated. I will not be totally excited until they say that to me. :)

is done in only black and white. I find it exciting when things are done and black and white because it allows you to use your imagination more to put in your own ideas of what may happen. The poster was very “dark and twisty” yet very to the point and gives you the information that you want to know.
The second poster:
was also interesting because like the first one it didn’t have a lot of color so it allows for creativity. The silhouette of a man’s face within Ashley Judd’s face is so fascinating.
The website for the bug movie is especially horrifying. When I was a little girl I used to watch horror films all the time, not I find myself especially timid when it comes to horror films but this one looks so interesting. For one, I love Ashley Judd, I think she’s great. I like that this movie seems unique and isn't your typical something-is-going-to-get-you-through-the-television-set type movie. This movie is going to be awesome in the theatre and I'm excited to see how it turns around and concludes itself!
I am also featured on Enthral's blog here!

Becuase of many life reasons I'm short on cash and have decided to use some this blogging time to make a few extra dollars.
Some of the posts will state, "this is a sponsered" post - where others will not be so blunt. I will only post what interests me and what relates to my interets.
If you have any questions about this, or would like to make some extra money yourself let me know at: email@example.com

When tagged, you tell seven interesting tidbits about yourself, and then tag seven other bloggers to play along. I only know 2 bloggers off the top of my head, and one of them tagged me! Here we go:
1) When I was five years old i was hit by a truck. I looked across the road and I did see a truck coming but I think because of my age I had an underdeveloped depth perception and I thought the truck was farther away. I was taken away in an ambulance, but all i had was a few scratches, no broken bones.
2) I took piano lessons from grade 2 to 5. Then took saxophone in school from grade 6 - 9. Then i took guitar classes from grades 10 - 12.
3) I've never made a new year's resolution
4) In high school I thought i wanted to be a journalist. Until i took a journalism course they offered in grade 12, and i hated it.
5) I've only been painting for about a year.
6) I am taking 2 sign language courses this summer.
7) I never wear makeup.
Now for the one person I'm tagging: Angela

I lied. I was able to take pictures and list my new ACEO tonight! I wasn't sure how much to list it for. But I ended up listing it for $6.00 We'll see how that goes
Eric - $25 for 2 paintings
Jeremy - $40 for custom painting (mail out)
Right now i'm doing workplacement which takes up about 9 hours a day with my lunch break, so I don't have a lot of time to do a whole lot of anything. I think I'm going to focus on some ACEO cards and some washer pendants. I should have an ACEO to list tomorrow :)
