eye i see what you see

I'm getting low on contact lenses, I need to pick some more up. But I do need to get my eyes tested because I think I need a new perscription and I haven't gotten my eyes checked in over two years. I would love to get the lazer eye surgery done. That would be so awesome not to have glasses or contacts or anything anymore!! Oh what a dream that would be.

artness

I bought a million (okay like 96) more pendants off etsy a few weeks ago and they came in the mail the other day. I have so many now I don't even know what to do with them all! I painted a few of them yesterday but I still have so many. It's going to be nice though - now I can do some commision ones if they come up!
I'm still working on a large 3 piece panal art piece for a girl I worked with during the summer. I am excited with the way it looks so far. I am going to try and finish it this week! :) I can't wait to post a picture of it when it's done.
I'm now doing 2, and hopefully 3, craft shows this fall. I'm so excited about them. :)

money money money!

Today has been a busy week! It's gone by so quickly. How lovely though. I don't know what my weekend has in store for me because Troy wants me to go back to Bridgewater for a bit but I start my Tai Chi class on Sunday at noon. He MAY be starting a new job on Monday!! But I don't know yet so that haults my weekend. I'm so glad that my car insurance went down. Now I feel like I have a bit more spending money! Not that I'm going to go and buy something fancy. It's nice to have for Christmas gifts!

Another work week begins

My weekend was lovely. I finally have a washer! So I did 3 loads of laundry - maddness really. I also went down to the Farmer's Market. It was really nice to spend time with Troy down there and see some awesome crafters. I bought a really cool piece of artwork from a local artist - David King. I was so attracted to his artwork - it's really marvelous. I am looking forward to having my evenings to paint and clean and all that fun stuff. I really should go for a walk tonight to. Get my body moving a bit more. I’m trying to walk for at least a half an hour a day. Let’s hope that I can last at least a week.

weird little things

This week has been filled with weird little things. Being obsessed with getting a washer then getting a free one (or basically free I have to find out for sure). Winning our staff draw, selling more pendants then I ever have. It's been quite a few wonderful things. Some not so good but we won't lavish on those.

I am going to try and get my hair cut tonight. It's driving me crazy and I just want to get it done so it's not in my way all the time.

I'm going to try and get tickets for Josh Ritter who is coming here next month - so exciting!

wednesday smiles

I wouldn't mind having some new modern furniture but I am pretty content with what I have at the moment. I do like having a futon in case I have visitors over for the night - even though that doesn't happen very often. Of course I have a rocking chair for when Troy's around. He's obsessed with his rocking chairs. It's so cute though.

I'm working on a large commision painting right now. I have the background done and I am really content with it. Now I just have to work on the actual scene that I am going to do.

Art show - a success!

So... I had my art show on the weekend. It went really well! I sold one 8 X 10 painting and a few pendants. I brought my pendants into work today and even sold a few more haha. I was nervous about how I was going to do but I will consider the show a success! I met a long of interesting and talented ladies while there and we are going to keep in contact with each other and let each other know about shows that are going on. I was invited to do another art show in November as well so I am looking forward to that!

techy

Troy this past summer has really connected with some old friends from high school. It was really good for him. They are all really techy and have IT jobs or something related. It’s great because he’s learning more and more about computers and technology in general so he is even more helpful now when it comes to those types of things. He’s going to fix up my computer too which is exciting. I still need the internet though. I do everything from work now and it’s annoying because I don’t have much time. Hopefully I’ll get it soon!

artbyashton.ca

I finally have my website up and running. Now I don’t have it nearly completed but it is up and finally getting somewhere. I am hopefully going to have some more information on it by the weekend so I can give out my new address at the art show that I am doing! I’m really looking forward to seeing what people like. I painted 5 more pendants last night. Yes – I am a machine! My new website is artbyashton.ca Go and check it out!

goodbye summer.

It's becoming that time of year again. When you must pack up all your outdoor furniture and cover them up with outdoor furniture covers and set them away for the winter. This past summer has been really hot. Sunny, but very rainy and cold for the most part. I know we are going to have a cold weekend this weekend because we are going to get some of the hurricane effects. I'm sure nothing will get too damaged. I don't want winter to come, it feels like we just had winter. Time goes by WAY too fast these days!

The handmade pledge

I Took The Handmade Pledge! BuyHandmade.org

I know they started this website for last holiday season but I'm forwarding my pledge to this season as well! I think it's really important to buy handmade - and locally if possible. I do make a lot of online purchases but I also try my hardest to support the local handmade scene. I'm really looking forward to catching some craft fairs and the saturday morning markets where I live to pick up some great gift things for the holiday season. I hate waiting to the last minute to buy things. I'm going to get started definitely within the next few weeks!

the best of the best

I think it's important to view all of your options before you commit yourself to something. Something that I really look into is skin care products. My skin is awful. My completion is a force to be reckoned with and make up is out of the question, so I always make sure I'm using a well rounded wash wash. There are the best acne treatments on this website here, with reviews and everything. It's good to read review on this stuff (i love reading food recipes as well online) just to make sure you know what you are getting.

Art show, vacation coming to a close

I'm trying to get stuff ready for my art show. It's stressing me out a little actually. I just want to make sure I have lots of stuff, but not too much, does that make sense? my vacation is also coming to a close which makes me really sad. It feels like I haven't been to work in forever - and it's about right. I haven't been to work in a little over a week now. It's been a great vacation but I guess I am looking forward to getting back to my regular routine of things. Christmas break will be here before I know it!

wishing and hoping

I guess in the long run - if you go to the movies a lot - then you would save money by having your own theater seating as well as a huge television. I don't understand the dynamics of it all but I guess if you have the money to spend on stuff like that then go for it. I'd rather save for a potential wedding. I've been wedding crazy lately. I know it won't happen for years now but I can always hope and dream right?!

Back from our trip

We got back from our trip early evening yesterday. It was very lovely but almost not long enough. It didn't take away my traveling bug completely. It was so nice just to be off with myself and with my friends for a few days. It was great not having to worry about anything. I was a big concerned about my car breaking down but it was pretty good - even though it's been making some weird noises now. I'm satisfied with my trip though. We did and saw some very lovely things. I was really happy that I was able to visit my grandmother. She was so adorable - as always. It was so nice to just sit down and talk with her one and one with no other family around. It was lovely.
