Ok. I have a guilty pleasure. The Millionaire Matchmaker. It's a show about a woman helps millionaires find a wife or husband. It's garbage really but since I'm staying at a place with cable (I know i'm spolied no) I find myself watching it night after night. All the girls are very beautiful and super skinny (with LOTS of makeup) they must have found the Fastest working weight loss pills or something. I like the host of the show because they really "tell it like it is" and get mad at guys who go for the 'bimbo-type' girls.

Stanley Park

I took this photo at Stanley Park. I love it when I find a good park, unfortunately it's on the other side of the country - that's okay, I can still like it. They had what they called a "sea wall" where the trail wrapped around the edge of the water/rock. It was really beautiful. It went underneath the Lions Gate Bridge. It was a 10k walk and i was surprisingly tired afterwords. Hopefully when I get back home it won't be too cold to go for evening walks.

Tattoo Love

I love my tattoo and would never think to remove tattoo that I have. I am thinking about getting some more but it's really hard to make that decision. My co-worker got a cool tattoo recently that reads her one child's name one way and the other child the other way. I can't remember what's it's called. I was thinking about getting a chickadee tattoo because I just love them and everytime I see one or hear one my heart flutters.
Troy hates tattoos. He likes a more "natural" girl. Good thing I don't like to hear a lot of makeup!

Big Goals

I have a lot of goals for 2011. I have some crazy ideas and some major things I want to accomplish.
I want to keep my weight even and keep eating health (i really want some chocolate ice cream right now!). I don't want to find diet pills that really work or anything like that. I just want to keep up the exercising especially when I get home from this trip - I don't want to be lazy.
I want to really establish my business and get that off the ground with a website and well known online and locally at markets, businesses, etc.
Troy and I are hoping to start construction on a house - so a huge goal here that will take up a lot of time and energy.

I love British Columbia

We visited Vancouver Island, around Vancouver and area and today we went to Whistler. It was really awesome to see the Olympic Rings 2010 in Whistler. We took at 10km walk around the very popular Stanley Park in Vancouver. We have been having a wonderful time exploring British Columbia and also getting to know my family a little bit more.

My car died on me a few months ago and alas I had to buy a "new" car. Well a second hand newish car. Unfortunately I had to get the full insurance on it. I have some things I want to do in the next few weeks and finding some cheap auto insurance - even a little bit cheaper will help in the long run and I need to save as much as I can these next few months. I love my new car but the price tag that goes along with it is not fun. We are travelling to Whistler tomorrow - very excited!

The vast differneces

I find it really interesting the differences that we have been experiencing. Some places recycle, some places don't. Some places have high tech bathrooms and hand dryers, some have paper towel. The landscapes are so different, how people act, treat you, etc. The weather is extremely forever changes from place to place. All the hostels were so different. It's so interesting how one country can be so different. I think the biggest different I expereinced was the composting. It seems like Nova Scotia and PEI are the only provinces (That I know) that compost. I was surprised that British Columbia doesn't - they seem pretty 'eco' to me.

Today we went to MacMillian Park today on the beautiful Vancouver Island. I saw the biggest tree on the island - taller that the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy which is crazy. This tree isn't it but it still deserved a hug - don't you think?

big decisions

I have been relying on Troy's brother printers lately but I really need to buy my own especially if I go back to school this fall. I have been looking around, but I'm not sure what i'm going to do yet. I may just use the printers at the school, that's what I used to do, we'll see. I have been thinking a lot about what I'm going to do this summer and fall but it's a really big decision, some hard ones to make. Troy and I are thinking about starting construction on a house, this is something we have been thinking about the past few months. Just not sure yet. We have our plan picked out - that's a start!

farmers markets

One more week of vacation then back to the grind. I think 2011 is going to bring some really exciting things! Just you wait and see. I'm thinking about retailing some soapnuts. I was looking at investing in some point of purchase displays for some markets, but i'm not sure yet. I am really passionate about soapnuts and mostly I just want to spread the word about them, I don't even want to make that much from it. I am swindle Troy in helping me get this started within the next two weeks. I'm going to contact some of the local farmers markets and see what happens!

Ice Canyon

Two days ago we went to the Magaline Ice Canyon here in Jasper park. We took a local tour with a very knowledgable guide. He took us into the canyon to the beautiful icefalls. Some of them were over 100 feet tall! They were truly amazing. They freeze from the underground spring that fall down and over the canyon walls, freezing to cause the waterfall. This happens every year. We even saw a climber climb all the way up a icefall about 80 feet tall. It was amazing.

I've been trying to pick up a few gifts here and there for family members, it's very difficult though because I really don't have much room in my luggage at all. Troy and I just have been carrying small packs with us. We didn't want to have to carry around a lot of luggage. It's been really nice not having to worry about big suitcases or anything. I'm been looking for a personalized gifts for my dad and Troy's dad, but no luck. I think i'll take a look though men's gifts and see if I can find something, in addition to finding something on our trip.

Our last train

I thought this vacation would go by extremely quickly, but to my surprise the time has been going by at a decent speed, not too fast, not too slow. I've really enjoyed my time so far and Troy as well. We haven't bought anything really souvineer wise, but spent lots of money on yummy food!! Glad I don't have to worry about payday loans, i'm psycho about saving money. We have been pretty good about where we spend out money, mostely on food and museums. We leave for Vancouver today - our last train :(

Very Cold and Snowy Edmonton

Troy and I have been in Edmonton for 2 days, and leave very early tomorrow morning. It's a very big city! We went to the huge mall - West Edmonton Mall that is 48 city blocks, it was pretty intense. We went to Second Cup for a London Fog (our new favourit spot) and to "Ice on Whyte" which is an ice sculpture festival. This year's theme was Chinese oriented so a lot of the ice sculptures were surrounding that theme. Troy took this picture early this evening. Isn't it incrediable?

Troy and I have been keeping ourselves entertained quite well during our trip. Who says we need a blackberry playbook, Nintendo DS, or equipment like that! I can't believe we are about half way through January already! Today is COLD! -28 but feels like - 33 with wind chill! I'm not sure if we'll try and brave the cold or not or get a taxi to the train station! We are heading to Edmonton today but won't get there until tomorrow morning :) I'm really looking forward to getting to British Columbia, it's not as cold there!

Week 2 !

Last night Troy and I arrived in Toronto. We chatted with a nice Ontario RCMP on the train ride up. We walked around the snowy streets today. It was nice though because there weren't too many people out and about. There was about 10 cm of snow that fell last night. We made our way to the Steam Whistle Brewery. We took a tour, tasted their beer and lefts with some souvenirs. We walked to China Town, the market for produce, grocery store and that pretty much took up our whole day!

The BIG Day

So yesterday Troy and I got married. After 2435 days of dating or over 6 and a half years we decide to elope and make the rest of this trip our honeymoon. We have planned this for a few months now and told our close family and friends before leaving. One of Troy's clients told us about friends she has in Ottawa and we could ask them to be witnesses, so that's exactly what we did. They were very good to us, even taking us out after the ceremony for "bubbly" and food. We spent the rest of the day doing laundry (haha), going on a jail tour of the hostel we are staying at and walking to Parliment to see the pretty light display. It was a wonderful day, but feels kinds weird that it's all over now.

Our trip thus far.

We are currently in Montreal. Troy and our started our journey across Canada by train on December 30th. We were in Quebec City for a few days and arrived here in Montreal last night. We leave tomorrow for Ottawa. I really fell in love with Quebec City, everyone was so nice. It's just such a beautiful city with grade architecture. I love it too because it's not too big that you can't see a lot of stuff on a short trip. We took advantage of a free walking tour provided through our hostel. It was very informative. We also went to the observatory which is a panoramic view of the city, then walked down to the ferry to see the city from the water.

Today we walked to the clock tower, notre-dame and skating rink here in Montreal. We have a short visit here, and I'm not brave enough to figure out the metro for only one day so walking around is good enough for me.
